COOPERSTOWN

Miss Sarah Bleakley Home

This home on South Main Street was the residence of Miss Sarah Bleakley, the daughter of James & Margaret Weber Bleakley. The 1976 history of Cooperstown relates that Sarah was a seamstress and many a young girl or lady had Miss Bleakley make their dress-up dresses. Miss Sarah died in 1932 and is buried in the Sugarcreek Memorial Cemetery. The Charles McKay family also lived in one half of the house. Like many of the homes on S. Main, this one was demolished.
