EMLENTON

502 Main Street
Emlenton Bridge Antiques

For many years a hardware store operated from this building. John M. Mitchell began the business in 1878 on River Avenue and soon located to the new brick Main Street building. After his death in the 1890s his son, Harry Bennett Mitchell took over the business. He was later joined by his brother-in-law Harry Graham. Not long after the death of H.B. Mitchell in 1945 the business was purchased by Emil Long whose building across the street had been destroyed by fire. Hecht & Eicholtz continued in the hardware business at a later date. In 1975 the Baker Auto Parts had a retail outlet in this building. June 2005 – Presently the location of the Emlenton Bridge Antiques with numerous treasures of our past.
