    * A daughter was born yesterday in the Franklin Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Proper, 405 Kennerdell St.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Walter Snow and son, Gary, of 407 Second St., have returned from a two-week vacation.
    * Mrs. Thomas G. Murphy and sons, Tom and David, arrived from Westfield, N.J., Monday afternoon for a visit with her mother, Mrs. Mae McGuire.

    * One of the original planes built in Franklin is scheduled to fly in Sunday afternoon during the Jaycee's Air Show. The "Franklin," with a serial number 101, is owned by Dr. Richard E. Gerber of Elkhart, Ind.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Burr Dalaba of Bonner Springs, Kan., are visiting their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vern A. Dalaba of Rocky Grove.

    * Airman 2-C Kent Smith will return Sunday to Houston, Texas, after spending a leave with his grandmother, Mrs. Elsie G. Smith, and other relatives and friends.
    * Mr. and Mrs. George Nestos and family have returned from Ocean City, N.J., after a delightful sojourn of several weeks. They escaped the full fury of Hurricane Diane.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Don Jolley of Rocky Grove and Mr. and Mrs. Ed McClure of Seneca are vacationing at the Casablanca Hotel, Miami Beach, Fla. They flew down Wednesday.

    * Joseph McGuire, a resident of Franklin for more than 30 years, has sold his interest in McGuire Brothers Drug Store to his brother, Kenneth, and will leave Thursday to make his home in California.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Pierce, Jr. and daughter of Anderson, Ind., were here to spend the weekend with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Pierce, Sr., Franklin RD 2.

    * Mrs. Helen H. Green of New York City has returned to her home after spending the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Myers of Franklin and Mrs. Ruth Riddle of Clintonville.
    * Miss Sally Harris, bride elect, was honored guest at a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. Wayne A. Rosenberg, 719 12th St. The hostesses were Mrs. Rosenberg, Mrs. Elmer Richey and Mrs. Lawrence Miller Jr.
    * A daughter was born today in the Franklin Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lindsey.

Morgan of 829 Liberty St.* Mrs. Walter J. Maloney, who has been a guest for the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren T. Crossley, has returned home her home in Erie.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Ray Siefer of Port Arthur, Texas, have returned to their home after visiting relatives and friends in Franklin and Rocky Grove.

    * Mrs. Thomas Brown of Morrisville and Mrs. George Hutchinson of Sewickley spent a day here with the former's mother, Mrs. J. T. Campbell Jr., a patient in the Franklin Hospital.

    * Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lytton were here for the Labor Day weekend as guest at the cottage of Dr. and Mrs. George Smith on the Allegheny.

    * Yesterday in the Franklin Hospital a son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Orsino, 529 Third St., and a daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Barnes of Youngsville.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ludwig and children, Susan and Ricky, left today for their home in South Bend, Ind., after spending the past week with Mr. Ludwig's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Ludwig, 11th St.
    * Mrs. Fred Fisher has returned home after spending several weeks as the guest of Dr. and Mrs. P. J. Flagg at their summer home at Vinal Haven, Maine.

    * Donovan Blanchard, son of Dr. and Mrs. D. C. Blanchard and James Woolf, son of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Woolf, have left to resume their second year studies at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
    * A daughter was born today in The Franklin Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Norman K. Beals, Jr., Miller Park.

    * Miss Martha Haworth of New York City, formerly of Franklin, is a guest of Mrs. Edward P. Ziegler.

    * Mr. and Mrs. Ray N. Rogers, who have been guests for a few days of the former's brother, Alfred M. Rogers, returned to their home in Cleveland, Ohio, yesterday.
    * Mrs. Alan McQuaide and daughter, Rita, left from the Franklin airport for San Francisco, Calif. They will leave for Okinawa to join Sfc. Alan McQuaide.

    * First Lt. James W. Haskell has arrived home for a leave after serving 16 months in Japan and Korea with the First Marine Air Wing.

    * A daughter was born yesterday in the Franklin Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Cassius Whitehill of 118 Elm St.
