    * A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Albert DuPONT on May 18.
    * Miss Mary HEDGLIN and Arnold ROBB were visiting on the hill recently.
    * Mr. and Mrs. FITZGERALD have moved to Forest County.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Orie WAGNER and Earl WAGNER called on Mr. and Mrs. Russell MANNING on Saturday and Sunday in Akron.
    * Mr. and Mrs. R. P. LARSEN and son, Richard, visited recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. OWENS, at New Lebanon.
    * Sunday visitors of Mrs. Myrtle BROWN were: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond DREWERY, of Bellview; Charles DEETS and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas PETTIGREW and children, of Tarentum; and Mr. and Mrs. Lee BROWN and daughter Josephine, of Rocky Grove.
    * Mrs. Emma WEIKLE visited Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Samuel McGRIFF, who have spent the winter with their son in Franklin. Mr. McGRIFF is very poorly at this time, and we sincerely wish him a speedy recovery.
    * Fred HUFFMAN and daughter, Emma, of Pittsburgh, have returned to Bethel, where they expect to spend the summer.
    * Mrs. Myrtle CRISPEN spent Monday evening with Mrs. Ida LARSEN.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Clarence FRANCISCO and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred PRICHARD and children attended a birthday dinner on Sunday in honor of the former's daughter, Mrs. Avdina WHEELER at Hendersonville.
    * Mrs. C. R. DAVIS and son, Raymond, and Connie Marie HARRAH spent an evening recently with Mr. and Mrs. Paul BROWN, at Bullion.
    * Mrs. Myrtle BROWN and Mrs. Dora HARTZ visited Monday with Mrs. Carl DAVIS. The afternoon was spent in quilting.
    * Stone Church - We had 130 at Sunday school yesterday. Bible school is to begin next Monday morning at 9 o'clock EST. The Rev. R. R. LOUGHNER and wife left yesterday afternoon to visit the Rev. Hiram VAN CLEVE and family at Altoona.
    *Russell SELLERS, only son of Mrs. Hannah SELLERS, of Eau Claire, is home from West Penn Hospital and feeling quite comfortable and was able to sit on the porch yesterday. We hope for his speedy recovery.
    *Mrs. Frank RIDDLE and son attended a concert at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh Friday evening. Miss Georgia RIDDLE was one of the singers.
    *Reed McCOY was home from Ohio University at Columbus for the weekend.
    *James McCOY and friend, from Allegheny College, spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Pauline McCOY.
    *Mrs. Hanna SELLERS recently spent an afternoon with her brother, John LEADBEATER, at Eau Claire.
    *Robert ANDERSON is suffering from whooping cough.
    *Mrs. H. W. HASSLER was ill for a few days but is better now.
    *Mrs. C. M. LEWIS, of Petrolia, has been visiting her friend, Mrs. Minnie GREER, at Six Points.
    *Mrs. R. H. ANDERSON attended the funeral last Tuesday at Clintonville of Milton COLVERT.
    *Mrs. Samuel SHOUP, of St. Petersburgh, visited her daughter, Mrs. Frank RIDDLE, a few days last week.
    *Miss Elizabeth BRUNSGAARD and Miss Betty Jean MILDORD, of our Sunday school, are members of the senior class at Emlenton High School this year.
    *Electricity was placed in the Stone Church chapel last week. The work was done by the Men's Bible Class. The men of the church are to mow the cemetery tomorrow.
    *Mr. and Mrs. Thomas OAKLEY, of Forrestville, were callers in the neighborhood this evening.
    *That was a beautiful and appropriate text the Rev. E. O. McNULTY used for Mrs. Hazel CRAWFORD BLACK's funeral sermon: Jeremiah 15:9, " Her sun is gone down while it was yet day." - Stone Church
    *The eighth grade examination was held at McCOY School, May 17. Mrs. Hazel GRIFFIN BODKIN, Miss Helen GRIFFIN and Miss Louella EAKIN, teachers of Scrubgrass Township, were the examiners and there were 15 in the class.
    <*Clarles BLACK, of Clintonville and son-in-law, Clyde CRAMER, recently called on Charles BLACK.
    * Mrs. William WITHERUP, of Barberton, O., and family, spent the weekend at the Frank RIDDLE home.
    * Mrs. W. G. COULTER and son, Redrick, and family, visited her step-father, D. A. CUMMINGS, at Rocky Grove Sunday evening. He has not been well lately.
    * Mrs. Harvey ALLEN and sister-in-law, Mrs. Robert MILLER, of Monore, and daughter, Mrs. EFFIE, and family, of near Pittsburgh, were here Saturday evening.
    * Misses Pearl CLAY and Miss Anna HASLETT were callers Friday evening. They will soon be home for good.
    * Melvin HASSLER, of Anandale, spent Sunday with his brother, Reldon HASSLER.
    * Mr. and Mrs. J.A. ECKEL and son, William, of Rocky Grove, called on Mr. and Mrs. Earl GREEN and family recently.
    *Callers at the home of Mrs. Lucy RICE in the past weeks were Mr. and Mrs. Luman LEWIS and daughter, Janis of Polk; F. M. GIBBONS, of Oak Hill; Mrs. Earl O'NEIL of this community, and Emerson LEWIS of Linesville.
    *Henry YOUNG, of Franklin, P.K. SMITH and daughter, Phyllis, of Oil City visited Miss Tula WHITMAN on Sunday.
    *F. A. WHITMAN and Mr. and Mrs. Earl GREEN and children spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. S. L. DEAN and sons at Meadville.
    *Floyd KARNS, of Fleming Hill, visited Frank WHITMAN recently.
    *John SOPHER, of Rocky Grove, spent Sunday with Earl GREEN.
    *Harry BEGGS, of Oak Hill, and Theodore GREEN spent Sunday at Cleveland.

    * Mrs. Emma MORROW BETZ, of Frostburg, Md., is visiting Mr. and Mrs. A. J. MORROW for a few days.
    * Mr. and Mrs James RUDDOCK, Mrs. Madge WITHERUP and son, Harry, of Barberton, O., Mr. and Mrs. Frank SCHIFFER, Jr., and children June and Richard, of Franklin, and Mr. and Mrs. D. E. WITHERUP, of Franklin, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. WITHERUP, Sunday.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Joe MONTGOMERY and family, of Eau Claire, visited Mr. and Mrs. Arthur MOORE, Sunday.
    *Mrs. James BLACK returned home Wednesday from a visit with her daughters, Mrs. Katherine BIGLER, of Hazelton, Mrs. McMURRAY, at Brookville, Mrs. TRUMAN, at Sigel, and Mrs. HUGGLER, at Van.
    * James McGINNIS and W. E. JACOBS were Franklin visitors Tuesday.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Albert BAKER and John BAKER, of Youngstown, O., and Miss Katherine BAKER, of Franklin, were week-end guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy BAKER.
    * Edward MYERS, of Latrobe, spent the week-end at the home of Mrs. Fannie TIDBALL.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Joe MONTGOMERY and family, of Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur MOORE and children visited Mr. and Mrs. Henry DILLAMAN at Queen's Junction, Sunday.
    * Mrs. Elmer McQUISTON is a patient in the Franklin Hospital.
    * Sunday visitors at the home of Miss Melda WITHERUP and Mr. and Mrs. H. K. WITHERUP were: Mr. and Mrs. Andrew HECKARD, Mr. and Mrs. Charles HECKARD and Miss Florence HECKARD, Mr. and Mrs. D. E. WITHERUP and Mrs. Frank SCHIFFER, all of Franklin. Charles TOY accompanied by his two brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Eliza FAIR, Mrs. HILLIARD and Miss Emily TOY, all of Foxburg.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Leo EMERY and son, Alva, of Struthers, O., Miss Agnes DALEY, of New Castle, and Mr. and Mrs. jack CRAIG and daughter, Jane, of Clintonville, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. SHOUP, Sunday.
    * Mrs. Cora JACOBS and son, Frank, visited Mrs. Catherine JENKINS, at the Butler Hospital, Sunday. Mrs. JENKINS fell and broke her hip several weeks ago. They and Mrs. Gladys COULTER and daughters also visited Mr. and Mrs. C. A. ANDREWS and family, at Evans City, the same day.
    * Among those attending the funeral of Alvin RENINGER held Sunday at the Lamey Church were Mrs. Fannie TIDWELL, Mrs. Edward MYERS, W. C. JACOBS and Mrs. James McGINNIS. Mr. Reninger was a brother of Mrs. Bertie TIDBALL, formerly of this place.
    * Mrs. A. J. MORROW visited Mrs. Kate LUSHER at Rockland, recently.
    * Betty Ruth, the little 4-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank HEDGORE, had the misfortune of breaking her leg last Thursday. She was riding a tricycle and in some manner the pedal flew back and broke her leg just above the ankle.
    *Mr. and Mrs. S. N. CRAMER, who spent a few days during the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Robert KOONSE, at Galloway, returned to their home on Saturday.
    * Mr. and Mrs. S. B. WITHERUP visited their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank SCHIFFER, at Franklin, on Saturday evening.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Robert WITHERUP, of Franklin, Ralph HOFFMAN and A. M. KRIBBS, of Clintonville, were Sunday guests of J. L. WITHERUP and family.
    *Mrs. A. J. MORROW accompanied by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Emma BETZ, of Frostburg, Md., and Mrs. C. H. O'DONNELL, of Franklin, visited Mrs. Roy CARTER and Mrs. Charles BOWMAN, at Oil City, Monday.
    *Henry MALENE, of Beaver Falls, and brother, Michael, of Oil City, spent Sunday here and were callers at the Roy BAKER home.
    * Mr. and Mrs. Louis STAHLMAN, Mrs. Monna HEETER and Bert CORBETT, of Franklin, visited Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert FINDLAY, recently.
    * Miss Grace WILLIAMS and Miss Laura HARLEY, of Rockland, spent Monday evening at the A. J. MORROW home.
    * Mrs. Madge WITHERUP and son, Harry, and Mr. and Mrs. James RUDDOCK, of Barberton, O., were over-night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank RIDDLE, Saturday and called on Miss Melda WITHERUP and Mr. and Mrs. H. K. WITHERUP.
