DRAKE WELL PARK - Erected March 20, 1947 and located at US 322 at Cranberry

Near Titusville. The Park and Museum are owned by the State. On the site Col. Edwin Drake struck oil Aug. 27, 1859, marking the birth of the petroleum industry. Historical and museum material center.

The Drake Well Museum is located in a small valley of Oil Creek about a half mile south of Titusville, PA. The Drake Well Museum Library contains one of the largest collections of materials pertaining to the birth of the oil industry and its subsequent development.
