10.Durant - Fassett Home

This home on Elk Street was built in 1875 for Dr. H.J. Durant. It was later purchased by Colonel Lewis H. & Leah Dale Fassett. This Gothic Revival home features roof finials on steeply pitched cross gables and tall narrow arched windows with drip molds. Colonel Fassett served in the Civil War and after moving to Franklin was the originator of the Crescent Oil Works, a company that produced and manufactured Franklin lubricating oil.
