Right side of angel base:
Casper Frank
Born in Bavaria Germany
March 31, 1820
Died Sept. 21, 1887


Left side of angel base:
Mary Frank
Wife of Casper Frank
Died Feb. 27, 1890
Aged 66 years


During the war he did gallant service for the Union cause as a private in the Fourth New York Light
Artillery. He came to Franklin in 1866 and was successfully engaged in the marble and tombstone business.
City directories of the 1880s indicate he had his business, C. Frank & Co., on Liberty Street near 13th
and his home was located on Liberty below 8th Street.


Casper Frank was appointed to the Franklin Parks Commission in 1882.
